Neighbors Way Tuition Assistance Award Eligibility Requirements

On behalf of the Neighbors Capital Area Foundation, we would like to personally thank you for your interest in applying for the Neighbors Way Tuition Assistance Award. Students selected for this award are eligible to receive a one-time scholarship award ranging from $1,000 to $7,500 tuition, with one student receiving a 4-year scholarship totaling $20,000.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Graduate in May 2024 from a participating Mascot School
    Baker High School
    Baton Rouge Magnet High School
    Broadmoor High School
    Central High School
    Denham Springs High School
    The Dunham School
    Liberty Magnet High School
    Live Oak High School
    McKinley High School
    Port Allen High School
    Scotlandville Magnet High School
    Southern University Lab School
    St. Helena College & Career Academy
    Walker High School
    Woodlawn High School
  2. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher until high school graduation
  3. Complete online application linked below (application goes live on Monday, January 8, 2024 and closes Wednesday, January 31, 2024)
  4. If selected to move forward, submit original essay per outlined guidelines provided to student
  5. Exemplify living the Neighbors Way by demonstrating the following core values: Integrity, Respect, Trust,
    Stability, Community Involvement, Honesty, Empathy, Ethical Behavior and Fairness
  6. Demonstrate an active involvement in the community by way of volunteerism, community service, or peer
    mentoring and show a general interest in helping those around them
  7. Must be able to provide verification of enrollment as a first-year student to an accredited college, university,
    or trade school for 2023-24 school year prior to distribution of scholarship funds
